Reflections on the Inaugural EMEA PX Publisher Summit

July 16, 2025 |By James Power  Commercial Director, EMEA & APAC

Last month, I had the honor and pleasure of hosting our very first EMEA edition of the Place Exchange Publisher Summit! The PX Publisher Summit has become one of our flagship events for publishers for a number of years now, however it has primarily been geared towards the US market. This year we decided to expand our programming – the growing momentum of our business across EMEA made it clear that this region deserved its own dedicated session.

What makes this event so valuable for our supply-side partners is that all the content is thoughtfully tailored just for them – with insights to help them grow programmatic revenues by better understanding what buyers are looking for in programmatic DOOH, and by spotlighting market trends and strategies that can drive success.

After months of planning, organising and curating our agenda, this inaugural EMEA summit was a tremendous success! We featured three amazing fireside chats with Danielle Austin (Managing Director – Evolve OOH), Andy Stevens (Global Chief Product Officer – Talon) and Breno Barcelos (Product Specialist – DV360), along with actionable insights and presentations on publisher best practices from the PX team, including our EMEA Supply Manager, Jeevan Abhol.

Some of the key takeaways from the event for me were the growing importance of independence and transparency in the programmatic ecosystem, the increasing adoption of always-on deals (AODs) built for their speed and efficiencies of delivering campaigns, and the growing interest in programmatic guaranteed (PG) deals as advertisers seek guaranteed pricing and placements. We also noticed an interesting trend in EMEA is the rise of publisher-led sales in programmatic DOOH, with publishers building internal sales teams focused on evangelizing and selling programmatic campaigns directly. This approach is helping publishers create new revenue streams and deeper relationships with agencies and advertisers.

With a highly engaged regional audience and a wealth of relevant content, this Summit underscored the ease of delivering DOOH campaigns from anywhere in the world, and the simplicity of running high-impact global, multi-market and hyper-local campaigns. It was a fantastic first Summit for EMEA, and we’re already excited for what next year will bring!
